How much does estate liquidation or downsizing cost?

Estate liquidation costs vary depending on the size of the home, the amount of labor involved, disposal requirements, and the value of items that can be resold. In some cases, valuable contents can significantly reduce the cost of the service, fully offset it, or even result in a payout to the client. Every project is different, which is why we offer free consultations and provide a clear quote before any work begins.

How do you determine the value of items?

We determine value of items using a combination of recent sold listings, current market conditions, brand, age, condition, rarity, and our experience with the second-hand market. While values can change over time our goal is to accurately assess each items value to maximize the credit it provides to your estate liquidation or downsizing project.

What happens to items you don't sell?

Any items we feels have too little value to be sold by us are donated to a varity of charity organizations in our local community.

How long does the liquidation process usually take?

It can take anywhere from a few hours up to a week depending on the size and complexity of the job. We generally estimate around 3 days for an entire house and garage.

Do I need to be present during the process?

No. As long as we have access to the property and a way to contact you if needed, we can complete the entire project without you being present.

What if I’m not sure where to start?

We understand that clearing a home can feel like a major task, especially during a move, downsizing transition, or after the loss of a loved one. Our goal is to make the process as organized and stress-free as possible by handling everything from sorting and removal to donations and resale.

How long does a consultation take?

Depending on the size of the property, house, or garage it can take anywhere from an hour if its a small property to half a day if it is a large property filled to the brim. Typically, we tell our clients to expect 1-2 hours.

Do you handle donations and disposal?

Yes, We aim to keep many useable items out of landfill as possible. Items with resale value are sold, useable items may be donated to local charities, recyclable materials are recycled at appropriate centers, and any remaining unwanted items are disposed of responsibly. We discuss the best approach with you before work begins.

What items can help offset the cost of an estate or downsizing project?

Every home is unique. Common items with resale value include quality furniture, antiques, collectables, artwork, jewelry, tools, electronics, musical instruments, sporting goods, and other desirable household items.

Do you buy individual items?

Our primary focus is complete estate liquidations, downsizing projects, and property clear-outs. Depending on the item, we may purchase individual pieces, but this is handled on a case by case basis. Contact us with photos and details, and we'll let you know if it's something we can help with.

Do you provide free consultations?

Yes. We offer free, no obligations consultations throughout Kelowna, West Kelowna, and Lake Country. For projects outside of our standard service area, consultations may be subject to a travel fee, depending on the location. We'll always discuss this with you in advance.

When and how do I receive payment?

If the value of the items, exceed the cost of the project, you will receive the remaining balance once the agreed work has been completed and all items have been processed. Payments can be made by e-transfer, cheque, or another agreed-upon method, depending on your preference.
