Frequently Asked Questions

As this may be your first time hearing about a service like ours, we understand you may have some questions. So, we put together a list of our most frequently asked questions in order to assist you in becoming more familiar with the process. If you can't find an answer to a question you have, please feel free to call us at 250-300-8585 or email us at info@getliquidated.ca

  • Who is Get Liquidated?
Get Liquidated is a full service liquidation company founded in Kelowna, BC. We pay you for items you no longer want or need, this may be because you are moving, managing an estate, or simply trying to purge that crowded basement or garage. We also offer junk removal services with competitive rates. We do our best to take the stress and hassle out of liquidating.
  • Why would I want to "Get Liquidated". Why shouldn't I just sell my own stuff?"
You may be wondering..... why would I not just sell my items at a garage sale or list them online myself? This is a question we get asked frequently and the answer is simple. It all comes down to time and money. If you hold a garage sale to sell your items, one of two things will happen. You will sell most of your stuff quickley over the course of a weekend but for around 10 cents on the dollar, or you will do the opposite and ask top dollar and because of the demographic that attends garage sales, you will be left with most of your items unsold. If you sell your items online, you can certainly generate more revenue, but the time and patience required to clear and entire home or garage is tremendous. I have had clients tell me that they have been selling their possessions online for as long as two years. Thankfully, Get Liquidated solves this dilemma. We save you time and guarentee that your space will be entirely cleared out. In most cases, we pay you more than you could have gotten holding your own garage sale with none of the work that goes along with it.
  • How does Get Liquidated's process work?
You simply book a free consultation through our "Book Consultation" button, we will contact you ASAP to schedule an appointment date and time that works best for you. One of our team members will come to the property and conduct a completly FREE, no obligation consultation. We conduct an estimate of the value of your items and after we are finished, we sit down with you to discuss our offer, how we arrived at it, and an approxment length of time to do the clear out. Once you have signed an agreement with us, we will show up on the scheduled date and begin clearing out the contents of the liquidation. After the space is fully cleared out and you are happy with the results, we will pay you in full.
  • Do I need to clean up or clear out any items before I hire you?
No, we take care of all the heavy lifting and leave you with an empty space to enjoy. We do ask that you remove any items which you or your family would like to keep prior to us doing our assessment in order to avoid confusion. If of course there are items you cannot remove prior to the assessment we do ask that you clearly indicate them to us and so that we can clearly mark them in the contract so we can avoid including them valuation.
  • How long does a Consultation take?
Depending on the size of the property, house, or garage it can take anywhere from a few hours if its a small property to a full day if it is a large property filled to the brim. Typically, we tell our clients to expect 2-3 hours.
  • How long does clearing out the property take?
It can take anywhere from half a day up to a week depending on the size and complexity of the job. We generally estimate around four days for an entire house and garage.
  • How do I get paid?
Once we have finished clearing out the space, we pay you in full. This is done by e transfer, cheque, or money order depending on your preference and the size of payout.
  • How does Get Liquidated assess value?
Value of items is assessed based on internet sold listing values and on our previous experience dealing with item values. We know value is subjective, but we try our best to get you the most money for your items.
  • Are there any leftovers?
No, we empty the property out completely unless there is an agreement made on items to be left before hand.
  • Do you donate to charities?
Yes, any items we feels have too little value to be sold by us are donated to a varity of charity organizations in our local community.
